What does it mean to be “evidence-based?”

Listening First Yoga is one of the few yoga providers in Tennessee to offer Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), an evidence-based adjunctive treatment for complex trauma and post traumatic stress. TCTSY qualified for inclusion in the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP) database published by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

“Evidence-based” means that TCTSY has been extensively researched in double-blind studies and has been shown to be an effective and impactful treatment for trauma. TCTSY’s evidence-based designation also means it often qualifies for grant funding. Read the research at www.traumasensitiveyoga.com.
